I always admire those blogs that got Philippine Blog Awards badges, either nominee or finalist for whatever category. Yes, it was a dream but I cannot believe that it would happen. I never expect that someone would nominate my blog or would even read my endless rantings of my whereabouts.
Weeheehoo! Maraming-maraming Weeheehooooo!!!
How Did I Find Out (pass muna tayo sa “How To Get There” ah)
I just found out that Chasing Philippines was nominated for Best Travel Blog last December 5, when I tried to access my Facebook and GMail while working (Hmmm.. I wonder if I still have my job after admitting that I am just pretending to be working, as in working really really hard). :))
The email was sent November 23 and since I am not that into checking my emails, it was kinda late already when I learned about it. Since it was too late, I was not able to invite the Philippine Harmonic Orchestra to celebrate with me that day, so I just bought myself an ice cream sundae then immediately placed the Nominee Badge on this blog. Ang saya-saya ko nun!!!
But Oops, Wait! There’s More!
Another email was sent out to the Top 10 Finalists for this year’s Philippine Blog Awards. I was in total shock when I saw my email (chasingphilippines@gmail.com) was included in the email thread. I checked the website and I tell you, I have checked the list of the Finalists for Best Travel Blog for about a hundred times. It was so unbelievable. Even I was not the one who won the P650 Million Pesos Jackpot Prize in the Grand Lotto just a month ago, I felt like we had the same feeling. (Nice! Feeling mayaman ako!) It may sound exaggerated but I really dreamt of this unconsciously; I never wanted to entertain the thought of being a nominee and/or more of a finalist since I know it won’t happen. So please forgive me if I am so hyper, I am just really so overwhelmed.
To RCBC and beyond!!!
It was too unbelievable, I was awake for 48 hrs straight.
It was too unbelievable, I was undecided to take a bath and prepare myself for the event.
I was thinking too much, I decided to take a nap for 10 minutes. And when I woke up, it was already 6.20pm. (The event starts at 7:00pm, and I am from Cavite). Buti na lang lumipad yung taxi. I was late for about 30 minutes (my deep apologies). Good thing, Gabe Mercado, the host for Philippine Blog Awards 2010, was still introducing the sponsors and doing some opening spiels.

Tsararan! The most rewarding moment. Seeing my blog page this big gave me a very unexplainable happy feeling. Lalalalala!

Thank you Dear Sponsors.

Meet the Creator of Chasing Philippines:
Mich Borlagdan, ang tagadaldal sa blog. Computer addict. Taga-gawa ng web layout. Mahilig tumawad.
It was the first time that my blog got recognized. I never expected this. All I wanted was to share the places I’ve been to. Even I did not win (I really did not expect to win, I just started this travel blog, Chasing Philippines 7 months ago and being a nominee is way too much already); just the thought that there are some people who read my blog is already priceless.
To all the readers out there, Thank you so much!!!
Nina Fuentes of JustWandering.org, Congratulations!!!
