Goodbye Nicky: A Eulogy to My Favorite Travel Buddy

It was quite a long time since I posted something personal on this blog; something that involves my heart, my feelings, and uhmmm… my reasons for tears.

Maybe, it’s just so hard to let go of someone who have been very significant to you. Someone who you dreamt of having, someone you’d been praying for, someone you’ve been holding on to, someone whom you’ve been together through thick and thin, someone who made a big change in your life… (This is getting too emotional, dear me, please stop, whew!)

I do not know exactly what to feel right now. Realizing the fact that in some way I need to start accepting that a promise to see and experience things together was left broken and undone. Yes, remember, you promised me you’re going to hold my hand forever? I believed, I hoped. I thought this time, it’s different. A part of me wants to ask a lot of questions, a part of me wants to get mad but… but… haaaist… All I have here is love, I cannot even force myself to get mad. Nicky, my love, thank you for sticking with me. Thank you, for letting me see all the beautiful things life has to offer. You definitely changed my life, you changed how I see things completely. Thank you, Thank you.

Let me tell you this for the very last time, I Love You. I Love You So Much.

(I’m not into posting of pictures of my loved ones that much, I want them to stay behind the camera, but I think this story is worth sharing. He lived a very meaningful life, again, I love you.)

I can still remember that day when you said goodbye.. you just left me standing there all alone…

8:30 am, 12/1/2012 – Nicky was declared Dead on Arrival at Hungduan Rice Terraces, Ifugao

Reminiscin’ our good old days…

You were just a dream before… a fruit of hardwork and OT’s.

I got Nicky after 1 1/2 month of going double shift at work
I can’t  forget our first night together… our first kiss, just in time for Valentines Day
I’m gonna miss our dates and out of town trips
